After the Youth Leading Environmental Change workshop on 3rd November 2012, having been trained in construction of the energy saving stoves by Joint Energy and Environment Projects (JEEP) , YLEC Uganda furthered their efforts of creating awareness on the use of renewable energy technologies. In 2013, with assistance from the technical personnel from Centre for Research in Energy and Energy Conservation (CREEC), they reached out to implement energy stove construction for elderly people. Later the outreach was moved to a community in Butambala district, were about 20 people were trained in constructing energy saving stoves.
